Classroom Connections (CC) is an approved partner of the University of Sioux Falls, offering online graduate level courses that are designed for educators who already have their teaching license.
How long does my Initial Teaching License last?
An Initial Teaching License is good for two years.
What must I do to obtain a Standard License?
To obtain a Standard License, you must teach two full years in a public school or three years in a private school. Renewal credits are not required, but your administrator must verify your successful teaching experience.
How often must a Standard License be renewed?
A Standard License must be renewed every five years.
What must I do to renew a Standard License?
You must obtain six renewal credits to renew a Standard License.
Why do I want to take Graduate credit rather than Renewal credit?
Renewal credit can only be used for renewing your Iowa teaching license. Graduate credit can be used to renew your teaching license, it may move you on the salary schedule, and it can cross state lines to use for a license in another state.
How do I move from a Standard Teaching license to a Professional Teaching license?
You would need a Masters Degree with at least 5 years of teaching experience.
